REPORT OF LDSN CAREER DAY CELEBRATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ADVOCACY FOR PERSONS WITH ALBINISM NETWORK (APAN)

The Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria (LDSN) celebrated Career Day with the Advocacy for Persons with Albinism Network (APAN) on June 14, 2024, in Akwa Ibom State. Over 200 attendees enjoyed a vibrant career parade, drama presentations, fun activities, and dancing displays. Learners embodied roles such as lawyers, nurses, pilots, and more. The event concluded with a panel discussion, exhibitions, and group photos. Special thanks to the LDSN President, Vice President, volunteers, staff, and guests for their support.

LEARNING DISABILITIES SOCIETY OF NIGERIA, LDSN CELEBRATE HER 4TH ANNIVERSARY AND AWARDS.

The Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria celebrated its 4th anniversary on December 8th, 2023. The event was well-attended by dignitaries, members of the Civil Society Organizations, Schools, and well-wishers. The event was organized to mark the organization's four years of existence and included fundraising, cutting of the anniversary cake, fundraising, and awards. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the proposed permanent residence for LDSN learners and the need for an 18-seater bus as a means of transportation for learners.

Report on Safe-Guarding Training at the LDSN Center.

On March 14, 2024, the Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria (LDSN) held a Safe-Guarding training session led by Mr. Promise Unwene, the Vice President of LDSN. The training covered topics such as understanding safeguarding, types of abuse, creating a supportive environment, staff responsibilities, recognizing abuse, and setting protocols. All LDSN staff attended, and Mrs. Ekaette Okpon gave a vote of thanks, followed by a group photograph.
